Before installing the XFasten Drywall Repair Tape, it would be best to measure the strip sizes and exact areas which you need to install the tape. Make sure that the repair site/surface is dry, clean and free of dust. You may need to sand the surface if its coating is too thick or glossy. This will strengthen the tape's bond and make the spackle
finish neater.
- Pre-cut the tape based on your desired strip lengths and sizes. You can use a sharp pair of scissors or a cutter to cut the Drywall Repair Tape. Also, please be careful in handling sharp objects.
- Apply the strip to the crack, seam or crevice in your wall, ceiling or any area which you wish to repair.
- Coat the tape with a layer of a spackle paste or cement putty. This will finally seal the crack with the repair tape acting as the main structural support. You may also choose to not opt for a spackling paste.
- Let the tape and spackle cure and dry overnight.
