Tips & Instructions for XFasten Floor Vinyl Marking Tape, Black, 2" x 36 Yards

Instructions
1. Make sure that the floor surface us clean, dry and duct-free. Thoroughly dust the area, clean it with an alcohol solution ( if the surface is compatible with a standard alcohol or disinfectant solution) and let it completely dry before applying the tape. You can also opt for a soap and water solution.
2. Once the floor surface is dry, to ensure that the application is straight ( for long application lines), you can use a chalk as a marker to create a precisely straight line as an application guide.
3. Peel the tape from the roll. NOTE: make sure to not touch the adhesive side, if possible, as oils from your hands or any other foreign materials can contaminate the adhesive and lessen its bonding strength.
4. Apply the vinyl tape on the surface.
5. Press the vinyl floor marking tape against the surface, applying enough force to increase the initial bonding strength. You can use a roller or any cylindrical object to press the tape against the floor.
6. Conform the Marking Tape with the surface's texture to eliminate any gaps that may exist in between the tape and the surface.
7. Allow the tape's adhesive to cure, dry and set for a few minutes.
Tearing & Cutting the Vinyl Tape
You can cut a strip of the vinyl marking tape using a pair of scissors. If you have trouble cutting the tape, then it is recommended to apply some form of tension on the tape by pulling it gently while one end is installed on the surface while the other end is still spooled in the roll. By pulling the tape and applying tension, it will be easier to cut or tear the strip.

Removing the Adhesive
On rare cases, the adhesive can stick into objects such as the edge of a scissor. The adhesive can be easily removed by either of the following steps:
1. Partially melting the adhesive using the warm air exhaust of a hair dryer. Warm air will soften the adhesive thus make it easier for you to remove any adhesive residue. After partially melting the adhesive, then you can simply wipe off the adhesive residue.
2. Wiping the surface with a warm water with soap and white vinegar solution. You can also use a soft brush to remove the adhesive faster. You can also mix in some baking soda to the solution.
3. Applying Goo Gone solution, lighter fluid, or kerosene on the surface. This will melt the adhesive without damaging the surface. Soak the surface for 15 minutes and simply wipe it off with a damp cloth. The residue can easily be removed and wiped clean through this process.
