Tips & Instructions for Vinyl Electrical Tape

Instructions
1. Clean the surfaces where you would be installing the tapes. Lint, dirt, and dust can significantly lessen the bonding strength of  adhesives. NOTE: Be careful on handling electrical connections. Turn off circuit before installing the tape.
2. Peel the tape from the roll. Cut the desired amount of tape by scissors or through your bare hands.
3. Position and apply the electrical tape strips on the desired surface. Maximize the tension if you are using this bundle wires together. You can increase the tension by tightening the tape whiles installing.
4. Squeegee any air bubbles or gaps that may exist between the surface and the tape. You can use a roller to squeegee any excess air.
5.Apply more strips by repeating steps 2-5.

BE CAREFUL!
XFasten cares about your safety. We know you already know it and you are a very careful person. But we just want to remind you still to be careful whenever dealing with electrical circuits. Turn off the circuit first before installing the tapes on electrical devices and wires. It might be a hassle to some, but this safety precaution is very important and can save countless lives, however simple it may be.

Increasing the Bonding Strength
1. You can increase the bonding strength of the Electrical Tape by pressing it to the surface. Make sure to press it firmly through your hands or palm. Squeegee any air bubbles or gaps that may exist between the surface and the tape.
2. If you have a hair dryer or a heat gun, you can also heat the adhesive using warm air exhaust. Heating the adhesive upon installation will temper it and further increase the adhesive's strength.
3. You can strengthen the bond by increasing the surface area of application. This can be done by applying more tape on the object. Make sure that the surface is free from dust and dirt.

Removing the Adhesive
On rare cases, the adhesive can stick into objects such as the edge of a scissor. The adhesive can be easily removed  by either of the following steps:
1. partially melting the adhesive using the warm air exhaust of a hair dryer. After partially melting the adhesive, then you can simply wipe off the adhesive residue.
2. Wiping the surface with a warm water with soap and white vinegar solution. You can also use a soft brush to remove the adhesive faster. You can also mix in some baking soda to the solution.
3. Applying Goo Gone solution, lighter fluid, or kerosene in the surface. The residue can easily be removed and wiped clean through this process.
